Before my Grand Father, BizzulaVenkata Narshima Reddy
married my Grandmother Rama Lakshamma, he had married
Rani Shankeramma’s brother’s (Charles Wahab ) daughter
Seethamma, i.e my Mother’s (Vimala Devi’s father Govind
Reddy’s elder sister) Aunt. Govind Reddy’s Father was
Charles Wahab, who was a very big and very rich Deshmuk of
Babusaipeta, Nalagonda, and had over hundred villages under
him. A very powerful Deshmukh, who had direct access to the
Prime Miniter of Nizam of Hyderabad .Charles Wahab was
the man, who was practically running the administration of
Wanaparthy in the name of Rani Shankeramma, along with his
huge estate of hundred villages in Nalgonda.
Sitamma had one son by my Grand Father. His name is Bijjula Chandra
Shaker Reddy, Jagirdar of Pallepad.Sitamma, died when her
son was a teenager. My Grand Father again married Rama
Lakshamma of Bijjinapalli, who had one son Bijjula Rameshwer
Reddy,Jagirdar i.e my father and two sisters Ruknamma and
Sitamma ( who was named in memory of his first wife)
/Pramela Pingle ( Aftermarriage).
Ruknamma was again married into Bijjanapalli family, who has a son named
Jaipal Reddy and five daughters. Sitamma, who was renamed
Pramela Pingle, was married to the son of Pingle Venkatram
Reddy of Warangal, a very rich Industralist, Pingle Jagan
Mohan Reddy, who went to become a Supreme Court Judge of
India.
The Bijjinapalli household was totally taken care by Rani Shankeramma of
Wanaparthi, wife of Raja Rameshwer Rao-1, after the death of
the dominating mother-in-law of the Ghost, Mamgamma., as her
adopted son Rama Krishna Reddy of
Taddor, had become old and
was too mild to look after the huge estate and also a
very big family, This family in Bijjinapally
was the family of the Raja Saheb’s
sister, who was married to Tadoor
Dashmuk Rami Reddy. The other Son of the Rami Reddy,
who inherited the Taddor fortune was very independent and
had no personal touch with the family in Bijjinapalli and
also Wanaparthy.
This is the story of my Nainamma, our grandmother. The only serving
member of that generation is Kishtamma Nainamma (Last of
eleven siblings), who now resides in Marridpalli,
Secunderabad has a phenomenal memory. She can remember all
this in such clarity, which is unbelievable. We dedicate
this to her for letting the present generations to know who
our ancestors are.
We also like to Thank Kamalamma, our Naimma’s only brother’s ( Ranga
Reddy),
daughter, who instigated us to probe this history. She has
written books on religion and is well learned.
Ranga Reddy was educated in Calcutta. He studied Law and became a lawyer
of repute in Mahabubnagar. He was educated by Rani Shakaramma
of wanaparthy, who financed all his education. Rani
Shakaramma too financed other cousins of his for higher
education. Thus the whole Bijjinapalli family was well
educated. Mr Chinna Reddy, elder to Ranga Reddy had a son.
who again married a girl from Wanaparthy family.
Apart from kamalamma, whose father was our Nainaamma’s only brother, was
brought up by her Step-father, who was the head of the
family, until he died. He looked after all the four girls
and two sons as their mother had died very young, along with
his only son as his own children. All the girls were married
well into big families.
Finally, I am thankful to bring this story of my Naimma to you because of
my Attamma( My father's sister) i.e Pingle Pramela Reddy/
Sitamma, who spend long hour with Kishtamma Naimma and
meticulously jotted the whole history of her mother. She had
comprehensive discussions with her niece Kammalamma to put
the history in right prospective.
